California Airbrush Spray Tanning
Part of our Spa Services included Airbrush Spray Tanning.
The
active ingredient in all sunless tanning solution is Dihydroxacetone (DHA). It is a common sugar derived from sugar
cane and sugar beets. It has been FDA approved for topical use for over 30 years.
A Complete Spray Session:
During
the procedure a bronzer is applied to the skin to give you an instant tan. However, the DHA is actually clear and it will
produce the tan color over the next 6 hours.
RELAX,
this is a procedure you should enjoy and feel totally comfortable doing. If at anytime you don’t feel comfortable please
speak up.
You will be asked to put on what you would like to be tanned in. It can be anything from a swim suit
to being nude. I have disposable bras and thong underwear if you prefer to wear those. You will also be asked to put you hair
up either in a hair tie or hair cap which we can provide.
I will apply barrier cream on your hands and feet .
You will then stand inside a private tanning room and I will begin to spray you with the solution. It
may be cold so I will start with the legs and work my way up so you can get used to the feel.
I will ask you to
turn different ways to make sure I get all areas. It does not take long for the whole process.
After application is complete
you will have to wait 5 minutes for the solution to dry and then you can get dressed.
Remember no shower for
6 hours, when you do shower the cosmetic bronzer will wash off making the water appear very dark. This is not your Spray Tan
washing away, only the cosmetic bronzer.
After the Session:
Make sure you wear loose dark clothing that you don’t mind bronzer rubbing off on. The solution
will come out of most clothing but bring something old just in case.
You should not shower, sweat, or go swimming
for the next 6-8 hours. This gives the DHA time to develop on your skin.
After the DHA has time to develop you
can shower and you will see the bronzer coming off in the shower-DON’T worry you will now have a tan that will last
for days or even weeks!
